Advantages and disadvantages of PVC water pipes

Advantages of PVC water pipes:
(1) It has good tensile and compressive strength: but its flexibility is not as good as other plastic pipes.
(2) Small fluid resistance: PVC-U pipe has very smooth pipe wall and little resistance to fluids. Its roughness coefficient is only 0.009, its water delivery capacity can be increased by 20% compared with cast iron pipe of the same pipe diameter, and 40% higher than concrete pipe. .
(3) Excellent corrosion resistance and chemical resistance: PVC-U pipe has excellent acid resistance, alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, and is not affected by moist moisture and soil acidity. The pipe is laid without any anti-corrosion treatment.
(4) It has good water tightness: the installation of PVC-U pipe has good water tightness regardless of bonding or rubber ring connection.
(5) Anti-bite: PVC-U tube is not a source of nutrients and therefore will not be attacked by rodents. According to tests conducted by the National Sanitation Foundation in Michigan, mice do not bite PVC-U tubing.
Disadvantages of PVC water pipes:
(1) It should not be used as a hot water pipe, but as a domestic water supply pipe, but it should not be used as a direct drinking water supply pipe.
(2) Easy to crack when subjected to impact.
(3) Some low-quality counterfeit UPVC pipes have added plasticizers in their production, which can cause media contamination and greatly shorten the aging period of UPVC pipes.
